Get the details right, first time.
Plan access and loading windows around operations; separate electrical appliances, textiles and general waste.
What to prepare
Create a list of furniture, equipment, recyclable materials and potential exceptions. Business waste has documentation requirements that can differ from domestic clearances. Identify anything electrical or containing confidential information early.
Agree the site contact, loading time, vehicle access, lift restrictions and a reasonable plan for separation. For contractor projects, take care with heavy rubble, plasterboard and demolition materials.
Waste-carrier and documentation checks
Use the Environment Agency public register to verify the people who will collect and, where relevant, broker the load. Request the applicable controlled-waste transfer records and keep them with the project paperwork.
England’s Simpler Recycling workplace guidance may also affect your normal business waste streams, independently of a one-off property clearance.
